The 36XTEN number ring is the feature worth understanding. It is designed to turn along with the board, so the numbers stay correctly oriented after a rotation rather than needing to be reset.

That matters because rotating a board is the cheapest way to extend its life, and a ring that does not turn with it is the reason most people stop bothering. The Peak-Fix bracket holds the board firmly enough that repeated removal does not loosen the mount.
