The Winmau Starter Pack is an entry-level steel tip dart set containing two sets of brass darts, each supplied with shafts and flights fitted, plus a checkout card. The barrels are brass rather than tungsten, and the pack is built to get two players onto a bristle board without buying two separate sets.

Brass is less dense than tungsten, so a brass barrel is thicker than a tungsten barrel of the same weight. That extra width takes up more room in a scoring bed and makes tight grouping harder, which is why brass sits at the entry level and tungsten is the step up once a player's throw settles. It also makes brass the sensible choice while a throw is still changing: the barrels are inexpensive to replace and hold up to the knocks of learning. The shafts and flights are included and fitted, so the darts are ready to throw out of the packet, and the checkout card lists the standard finishing combinations from each score, which is the part of the game most new players find hardest to work out at the board.
