A broad, unfussy barrel with almost nothing to it — the Tycho carries the lightest grip Mission cut at 2 out of 5, on a straight profile that leaves every decision to you.

That combination is rarer than it sounds. Most manufacturers pair a plain shape with a firm grip on the basis that one of the two has to hold the dart; Mission have done neither, and the result is a barrel that releases as cleanly as anything in the range. It suits a settled action — you're putting your hand in the same place each throw rather than being guided there.

At 48mm the barrel sits a couple of millimetres under standard tournament length, which brings the balance point closer to your hand, and the width climbs from 7mm at 22g to 7.65mm at 26g. Broad enough that there's plenty to locate against.
